Find credentials for YouTube in NSP Academic > Communications & Marketing > Third-Party-Account-Logins.docx

Go to Admin Dashboard

  1. From the Apps menu, select YouTube.
  2. Click the Account icon, then My Channel.
  3. Click Manage Videos.

Upload a Video

  1. Click Create (located in upper right corner) > Upload Videos
  2. Click Select Files.
  3. Locate a file from your local drive, and confirm by clicking Open.
  4. Add a Title. Always include a descriptive title that is short, concise and represents the content of the video.
  5. Add a Description. Include details such as:
    • Details not included in the title.
    • Include the Nutritional Sciences Program name.
    • Include University of Washington, School of Public Health or Center for Public Health Nutrition additionally (if applicable).
    • If the video is a recording of our seminar, include speaker details or a summary of the main points of the seminar.
    • In the summary, consider including terms that potential viewers may be searching for, or terms that reinforce program themes or areas of expertise.
    • List names and affiliations of any speakers featured in the seminar/video.
  6. Scroll past (skip) selecting a thumbnail. This can be edited later.
  7. Select a Playlist (category) for the video.
    • For Seminar videos, add to the playlist, “Nutrition 400/500 Seminars”
  8. Click Next (skip video elements screen).
  9. Designate Visibility. Videos for internal use only are usually categorized as “Unlisted.”
  10. Click Save.

Proof Video Quality

  1. After the video has processed and is available to view, click on the video from the Video Management screen.
  2. Review the video Thumbnail that was auto-selected by YouTube is complimentary. Select another thumbnail, or create a custom thumbnail and upload it if needed.
  3. Review description and title. Make any necessary edits. Proof for typos.
  4. Save any updates.
